Based in Portsmouth and photographing families across Hampshire, I offer outdoor and at-home sessions for families, children, babies and important milestones. I will guide you when needed, but the aim is always to create photographs that feel natural rather than heavily posed.

You do not need children who sit perfectly still, matching outfits or any experience in front of a camera. In fact, some of the best family photographs happen between the planned shots - walking together, laughing, playing or simply interacting as you normally would.

I will help choose suitable locations, suggest simple clothing ideas and give enough direction to keep things looking great without turning your family session into a formal studio portrait sitting.

I can work with natural light or bring lighting where appropriate, creating a mixture of relaxed portraits and candid photographs without needing to turn your home into a photography studio.

Do my children need to pose for the camera?

No. I will give direction where useful, but the emphasis is on relaxed interaction rather than asking children to hold stiff poses or smile constantly at the camera.

Where can our family photoshoot take place?

Family sessions can take place outdoors or at your home. We can discuss locations around Portsmouth and Hampshire and choose somewhere suitable for your family and the style of photographs you want.

What happens if the weather is bad?

For an outdoor shoot we will keep an eye on the forecast. If conditions are genuinely unsuitable, we can discuss changing the location or rearranging rather than forcing a session in weather that will not give you the photographs you want.

What should we wear for family photographs?

You do not need identical outfits. Simple colours that work well together are usually more effective. Once we know the location and type of session, I can give you guidance before the shoot.

Can grandparents or a larger family group join us?
